Random road trip roadside donuts at Todd`s Market, Minersville

On most road trips there are usually one or more “random” stops or experiences that we had not planned for, or something just pops up out of nowhere on the road to somewhere. A very random and most excellent thing happened while we were zooming down Utah State Route 130, looking for US Route 50 also known as “America`s Loneliest Highway”. Driving through the very sleepy town of Minersville, we happened upon a sign stating “fresh donuts daily” at Todd`s Market country deli & grocery.

And we never drive past a sign with “fresh donuts” on it! A hard left with our landship Ford Explorer and we found Todd`s Market up the street.

It was an excellent idea to stop, inside the shop two of the friendliest women met us with a huge smile. Todd was not there we were told but they said that Todd had set up the store for the locals, and it was filled to the rim with groceries and miscellaneous things you might need in a small town if you suddenly run out of something or the other.

The ladies had their own kitchen in the store where they made fresh donuts every day, and also other fresh items like dips and dressings. The donut display was full of what looked like the most delish “Homer Simpson mmmmmmm donuts!” donuts. We purchased 4 and sat down outside to devour those 4, and after 1 bite we knew we had to buy more. This was probably the best donuts we have ever had, fresh and filled with all kinds of goodness.

The ladies loved that we came back in, and we got samplers of everything from the dips to cookies and jam. We loved Todd`s Market! The bag of donuts we brought with us to the majestic Mather Overlook at Wheelers Peak in the Great Basin National Park and devoured them all within few minutes. So, if you are passing through Minersville, stop at Todd`s Market and sample the best donuts in the west! And say hello from Norway!
